Who processes your data

Your data is processed by Vila Demo, Šumska 12, Delnice, 51315 Mrkopalj, Croatia.

For any question about the processing of personal data, and to exercise the rights listed below, write to demo@house-amalia.com. We receive complaints at the same address.

What we collect and why

  • Booking inquiry: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the dates you want, the number of guests and your message. We need these to answer the inquiry and prepare an offer. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Reservation and invoice: the same data together with amounts and stay dates. The legal basis is performance of the accommodation contract, and for invoices also our legal bookkeeping obligation.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. These messages are not stored in our database; they arrive directly in our mailbox. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • Guest registration: for guests who actually stay, Croatian law obliges us to register the stay in the eVisitor system, which includes details from an identity document. The legal basis is a legal obligation.
  • Form protection: when a form is submitted we record the IP address in order to limit how many messages can be sent and to prevent abuse. The record is kept temporarily in the server memory. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.
  • Measurement and advertising: only if you agree through the cookie bar. The legal basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. It is processed on our behalf by our hosting provider, our email provider, a service that protects the forms from bots, Google for the embedded map and advertising measurement, and the eVisitor system for the legally required registration of guest stays.

How long we keep data

  • Inquiries that do not lead to a booking: two years from the last message.
  • Reservations, invoices and offers: eleven years, the retention period Croatian accounting law requires for bookkeeping documents.
  • Contact form messages in our mailbox: two years.
  • The cookie consent record: stored in your browser until you delete it or change your decision.

Your rights

At any time you may request access to your data, its correction or erasure, restriction of processing, transfer of the data to another controller, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it, which does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

Send your request to demo@house-amalia.com. We answer within one month at the latest.

If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may contact the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, azop.hr.

Cookies

On your first visit we show a bar where you choose whether to accept cookies for measurement and advertising. Until you accept, no such cookies are set. We remember your decision in your browser under the name amalia_cookie_consent; it contains no personal data.

You can change your decision at any time through the Cookies link in the footer.

Regardless of your decision, the bot protection on our forms sets its own cookies, because without it the forms would not work.

Changes to this policy

We refresh this policy from time to time to keep it in step with changes to the site or to the law. The date of the last change is shown at the top.
